"What I'm after isn't flexible bodies, but flexible brains. What I'm after is to restore each person to their human dignity."

Moshe Feldenkrais

What is the Feldenkrais Method?

The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education helps people improve their quality of life and achieve more of their potential by tapping into the incredible power of the brain to learn and change throughout life. Since how you move is how you move through life, these improvements will often enhance your thinking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving capabilities.

"The object of this learning is to remove the outside authority from your inner life.  Eliminate the old habit of listening to others about your own comfort and convenience.”

-Moshe Feldenkrais

How does the Feldenkrais Method work?

The Feldenkrais Method is based in neuroscience and the concept of neuroplasticity-

the capacity of the brain and nervous system to develop new functional connections throughout life. Using gentle movement sequences and focused attention, greater awareness of our habitual ways of moving can be developed and new, more optimal patterns explored, then integrated. Moving through the world with more ease, comfort and pleasure can lead to an improved quality of life!

Who can benefit?

Anyone may benefit from the Feldenkrais Method! Whether you are recovering from an injury, coping with a neurological condition, engaging in specialized activities such as sports or artistic performance, or just hoping to maintain your mobility as you age, this method can provide you with strategies for learning and improving whatever it is you desire to do more skillfully and with less effort. The applications of this approach are virtually limitless!
